A step we have taken.

On October 29, 2026, the student in our family sent Ontario the 60-day notice of the planned claim. The government’s legal office confirmed receipt that morning. It is a dated step in work that has already taken more than a year.

The case concerns the Ministry’s handling of her complaints and related records. We allege that officials protected the college and caused harm through that handling. We have built our case from the records.

WHERE THE CASE STANDS

From built case to court filing.

Ontario receives at least 60 days’ advance notice before the court case starts.

    Superior Court filing.

We plan to file the claim and ask the court for permission to proceed.

Our planned Superior Court filing date is December 29, 2026. We will post an update when we file.

The 60-day notice period is underway.

The notice gives Ontario at least 60 days’ advance warning before we start the court case. Crown Law Office confirmed that it received the notice on October 29.

We plan to file in Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice on December 29, 2026. We are using this period to complete the court documents and organize the supporting material.

What the work means now.

The case is built. We are checking the filing documents, seeking legal help and making the filing arrangements. We keep each complaint’s history clear and explain how the records connect.

We are also seeking legal help to test the work. A useful review can identify a missing fact, an assumption or a point that needs clearer wording. Someone who spots a weakness can help us address it before the next step.

Making room for the work.

Carrying the case forward takes sustained attention alongside ordinary family life. Small monthly support would help with legal advice, case preparation and the family costs that continue throughout it. One-time support and custom amounts are welcome too; the support page explains the current setup.

There are other useful ways to help: review a short document, check a set of records or introduce us to someone with relevant experience. We can agree on a manageable task before sharing any private material.
